Wayne County Hospital and Cancer Treatment Centers of America® Chicago to Launch Cancer Care Affiliation
Corydon, Iowa, November 10, 2021— Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, Iowa, and Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) Chicago are thrilled to announce a partnership to offer coordinated, advanced oncology care to residents of south-central Iowa. A ribbon-cutting event will be held at Wayne County Hospital on November 10 to officially launch the partnership.
This is CTCA® Chicago’s fourth community hospital partnership and third in Iowa. The hospital announced an alliance with Regional Health Services of Howard County and Iowa Cancer Specialists last year.
“Rural communities often face challenges when it comes to advanced cancer treatment options,” said Pete Govorchin, CTCA Enterprise Chief Operating Officer and Regional President. “We are excited to collaborate with Wayne County Hospital and the Corydon community to offer comprehensive oncology services for patients closer to their homes and families.”
Through its cancer care affiliates, CTCA Chicago healthcare providers collaborate with physicians in community hospitals to perform evaluations and propose treatment plans for oncology patients. Wayne County Hospital patients will have access to in-person visits at CTCA Chicago and clinical telehealth services with highly trained, board-certified physicians. This will allow patients to receive treatments, chemotherapy, and telehealth visits close to home.
“In our ongoing pursuit of offering continued excellence in healthcare, we are delighted to announce our new affiliation with Cancer Treatment Centers of America,” said Daren Relph, Wayne County Hospital CEO. “Our community has trusted Wayne County Hospital for high-quality care for generations. This partnership allows us to bring nationally recognized cancer care to our community and region.”
