The Wayne County Hospital Obstetrics Department delivers more babies than nearly all Iowa hospitals our size. Our experienced obstetrics team includes board-certified physicians, a certified nurse midwife and team of specially trained and experienced OB nurses.
At Wayne County Hospital, our goal is to help you feel more confident about caring for your newborn and your new role as a parent. This is your special time, and in order to make your stay pleasant, a comfortable, supportive and caring environment will be provided. We want to help you during each step of pregnancy and are happy to answer any questions you may have along the way. We are here to ensure you receive optimal care. Our mothers relax in modern birthing suites with personalized care and a variety of pain management options, including epidurals and aquatherapy.

PreNatal Classes
Taught by RNs with extensive maternity experience.
Classes are FREE and are held from 6:00pm-8:00pm in the hospital conference room. This is a series of classes with a different topic each night.

Classes are FREE and held from 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. We have a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) on staff available to answer questions and assist with the breastfeeding process.
