Runyon Receives “Shining Star”

(Corydon, October 18, 2013) The Wayne County Hospital Auxiliary is excited to announce Georgia Runyon as their choice for the 2013 Iowa Hospital Association’s “Shining Star” recipient. Georgia has been an auxiliary member over 30 years, currently serves as secretary, and has held every office and chaired most of the committees – sometimes more than once! She also volunteers at the gift shop and serves as a buyer. She supports Wayne County Hospital in many other capacities as well, along side her husband, Gary, who has been a hospital board member for many years.

Outside the hospital, Georgia is involved in many civic organizations in a leadership capacity. She also sings in the church choir, plays in the church bell choir, and is an active member of the United Methodist Women, and church committees.

Her interests include helping on their family farm, gardening, playing bridge, and attending grandchildren’s activities. Georgia and Gary have three married children, seven grandchildren, and several “grand” pets!

Congratulations, Georgia!
