EMT/Paramedic/RN Exemption–Days

Wayne County Hospital has a fulltime opening for an EMT/Paramedic/RN Exempt in our Emergency Services Department.  This is a day position from 6a-6p and night call with a 30 minute response time. This position provides basic and advanced medical treatment to neonatal through geriatric aged patients in the pre-hospital setting using written protocols approved by the Ambulance Medical Director; assumes sole responsibility for care and treatment given in the pre-hospital setting and will maintain a supervisory role in the area of patient care in the pre-hospital setting; will work under the supervision of the RN or Provider in the Emergency Room setting and will provide basic and advanced level care and treatment within their scope of practice.


Qualifications: Possession of current Iowa EMT/Paramedic certification or RN License with RN Paramedic exempt form signed by Medical Director, knowledge of the operation and maintenance of an ambulance; knowledge of pre-hospital emergency care and skilled in providing emergency medical care; Certification in ACLS, BLS, and PALS.  Must possess a valid Iowa Class D Chauffeur’s license. This successful candidate must have an understanding of HIPPA and patient privacy regulations and will be Mandatory Reporting Certified within six months of hire.
