Status: Fulltime (40 hours per week)

40 hours per week
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

-Responsibilities include communicating promptly with physicians with any questions or concerns regarding diagnosis, procedures and /or documentation.
-Applies coding conventions and rules to accurately retrospectively code diagnosis and procedures for all service types: ICD-10, CPT codes, etc.
-Codes, abstracts and releases patient records for billing in a timely fashion.
-Monitors status of financial reports and takes appropriate actions to ensure that records are coded and released to the business office in a timely fashion.
-Reviews coding literature for pertinent information relative to coding principles and coding guidelines.

-High School Diploma or GED
-Understands HIPAA Regulations & Privacy of Patient Information
-AAPC or AHIMA certification required
-Rural Health Clinic experience preferred
-Mandatory Reporting certification required within 6 months of hire
-Must pass background check, physical, drug screen, TB Test, and flu shot (seasonal) upon hire.
