WCHCS Welcomes Nurse Practitioner, Barb Masters

Corydon, July 25, 2016: Wayne County Hospital and Clinic System is pleased to announce the addition of Barbara Masters, DNP, ARNP, starting July 25th. barbara-mastersOriginally, from Leon, Iowa, she received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice Degree, as a Family Nurse Practitioner, in May 2016 and was awarded her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in May 1993 from the University of Iowa.

Ms. Masters brings over 20 years of nursing experience and has worked both as a staff RN and director for the med/surg floor and emergency department. She has also worked as a charge, triage and ICU nurse and has obstetrics experience. She served as a part-time clinical instructor for RN students at Southwestern Community College in Creston.
She has been the recipient of numerous honors including the Area Health Education Center Rural Health Scholar Recipient, Sigma Theta Rau International Honor Society of Nursing and the recipient of the Lieutenant Colonel James Mathey Huebsch and Dorothy Moore Huebsch Scholarship nominated by the University of Iowa faculty.
Ms. Masters will be seeing patients at the Humeston Family Medical Clinic, Lineville Medical Clinic and the South Central Iowa Medical Clinic. Appointments may be scheduled by calling 641-872-2063.
