Douglas W. Hoch, M.D.

Dr. Hoch grew up on a farm in Chariton in Lucas County. He is a graduate of Chariton High School and went on to attend Drake University in Des Moines. He completed is medical training at University of Iowa College of Medicine in 1976, and completed his residency training in family medicine in Davenport both at Mercy and St. Luke’s Hospitals in 1979.

Dr. Hoch began to practice in Corydon and in 1984 established the Wayne Family Medical Center. After relocating to Chariton for a period of time, Dr. Hoch rejoined the Wayne County Hospital medical staff in 2011. Dr. Hoch enjoys all aspects of family medicine, including pediatrics, gynecology, internal medicine and geriatrics.

He is a member of the Iowa Academy of Family Physicians, Iowa Medical Society, American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Hoch and his wife, Martha, live in Unionville, Missouri. Outside of the office Dr. Hoch enjoys walking, boating, fishing, music (he plays guitar and sings), Iowa Hawkeye football and spending time with family.
