Emergency Department Medical Director
Dr. Ahmed joined the Wayne County Hospital medical staff and Corydon Medical Clinic in July 2006; and the South Central Iowa Medical Clinic in January 2008. Dr. Ahmed’s passion is emergency medicine and he currently serves as the Emergency Room Medical Director for Wayne County Hosptial.
Originally from New York State, Dr. Ahmed received his medical training at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) graduating in 2000. He attended a Post-doctoral Fellow Program in Allergy / Immunology at the Harvard University School of Medicine and completed his Family Practice Residency Program at Mercy/Mayo Des Moines. Dr. Ahmed received his certification in Hospice and Pallative Care from the American Board of Family Medicine in December 2012.
He and his wife, Saima, have twin children.
