Elgin Independent Living (EIL) is a residential complex located near the Wayne County Hospital campus. Ideal for older individuals who want to and are able to live independently but who no longer want to maintain a home, Elign Independent Living provides a maintenance-free living alternative. EIL has a total of four apartment units with a large, comfortably luxurious, central common living room area adjoining each unit. The common area offers the opportunity for residents to visit with their guests and other residents as they choose. The complex is comprised of three 2-bedroom units and one 1-bedroom unit each with an adjoining walk out patio area. With privacy and security top priorities this residential complex provides a separate attached garage for each unit, a controlled entry, and a fire protection system, which includes smoke detectors and sprinklers throughout the building. Each unit includes individual temperature controls (air conditioning and heating) for personal comfort, attractive wall-to-wall carpeting and window blinds. The following services are available upon request: (there are some fees associated with these services) housekeeping, laundry, Meals-on-Wheels, access to Home Health Aide Services meals in the Wayne County Hospital Cafeteria. EIL provides private self-furnished apartments with all utilities (gas, electric, water and sewer) included in the lease. Telephone and cable TV service for individual units are optional.
