Wayne County Hospital operates as a tax-exempt community owned, 25-bed licensed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) with 6 full-time physicians, 2 Physician Assistants and 2 Nurse Practitioners and a dedicated team of health care professionals, including more than twenty visiting Specialty Clinic physicians. The hospital is the largest employer in the county serving a population of 6,600 people in Wayne County plus surrounding areas. (2002 Census)
